Presentation Formats
Proposals for participation can be submitted in the following formats:
Schedule
Papers will be accepted based on a peer review of manuscripts. Authors are expected to present their papers at the conference to facilitate the transfer of knowledge through discussion and debate. All accepted papers presented by a timely-registered author will be included in the conference proceedings.
Papers and workshops will be submitted in a two-stage process. First, initial short descriptions of the proposals must be submitted by the submission deadline below, and then they will be reviewed by the program committee. The program committee will meet on September 28 to review the abstracts.
If you are invited to submit for the second stage of the process, you must submit a preliminary version of the complete document by November 13, 2016. These documents will then be peer-reviewed. After the peer-review process, final versions of the documents as they will appear in the conference proceedings must be submitted by January 16, 2017. Note that the accepted workshops should be submitted in full by November 13, 2016 so we can post the workshop descriptions. This will allow people enough time to plan their trips so they can attend the workshops.

Topics of Interest
Paper topics should appeal to Engineering Education, Engineering Technology Education, First-Year and Connecting K-12 or other related areas, Engineering Advising, Impact on learning, etc. The conference theme is Engineering Everywhere for Everyone thus we are accepting a wide range of topic areas that allow attendees to develop a network of people with common interests along the conference theme or related education areas. Potential topics include:

Full Paper Submission Requirements
The Full paper submission type is for completed work, or work
at a phase where actual results are available.

Authors must submit an electronic description of no more than 250-300 words, via the conference
Web page by the submission deadline.

The author must submit: author's name, paper title, author's affiliation, phone
number, fax number, and e-mail address.
- Each abstract should be between 250 and 300 words in length, Times New Roman 24 pt. font for title, Times New Roman 12 pt. font for body. Use single column format for abstract with 1 inch margins.

One author from each paper is expected to register for and attend the conference.
The registered author can present more than one paper.

Final papers will be limited to six pages, not including references or Author Bios.

Full papers will be peer-reviewed by at least two reviewers. The purpose of the
review will be to check for completeness and accuracy of the work.

Work in Progress Submission Requirements
The Work in Progress submission type is for work that is still
in the process of study and/or implementation. That is the work is not complete,
thus, results may not be available.

deadline.

The author must submit: author's name, paper title, author's affiliation, phone
number, fax number, and e-mail address.

Work in Progress papers will be peer-reviewed by at least two reviewers. The
purpose of the review will be to provide the author with feedback to consider in
their on going research.

Note, some work-in-progress papers may be selected to participate in a new format of presentation that will include a round table discussion. This is to aid in getting feedback about your work and engage the engineering education community. You will be notified of this format after the peer review stage is complete.
All authors on a paper will be expected to participate in the review process.
Workshop Submission Requirements
The Workshop submission type is for work that promises
to be both informative and also provide an interactive format that encourages participation
by the attendees.

We hope to engage the participants in a number of working sessions that will enable us to understand how we might make engineering a more viable option as a field of study and career opportunity than it currently seems. We hope the proposed workshop can help the attendees begin to understand how to solve the drop in enrollments in engineering by providing an interactive workshop that is related to the topics listed in the call for papers.
- Note that the accepted workshops should be submitted in full by November 13, 2016 so we can post the workshop descriptions. This will allow people enough time to plan their trips so they can attend the workshops.

Student Poster Requirements
The student Poster submission type is to show case student that promises
to be both informative and also provide an interactive format that encourages participation between students and attendees.
The American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) invites both engineering and engineering technology faculty to sponsor their undergraduate students to present a poster at the Zone 2 Conference. This is an opportunity for you to exhibit your pedagogical successes through your students’ outstanding projects. Students may enter in the following categories:
- First/Second Year Engineering and/or Engineering Technology Design Teams
- Junior/Senior Engineering and/or Engineering Technology Design Teams
- Individual Undergraduate Research
There is a tremendous amount of talent and creativity in ASEE. You as faculty are invited to share your experiences with your colleagues, while at the same time recognizing your students and giving them the opportunity to:

Practice their visual, written, and oral communication skills in a professional/conference environment
- Share their research/project work with students and faculty from other institutions
Additionally, the poster competition will:
- Improve the visibility of student efforts,
- Recognize excellence in student projects, and
- Promote the sharing and exchange of ideas about team projects and undergraduate
research amongst the members in the section.
ELIGIBILITY
- Each student poster entry (Team or Individual) is required to have a faculty advisor.
- The faculty advisor must be a registered attendee of the conference and may advise up to three poster entries.
Design Teams:

Undergraduate student teams from any Engineering or Engineering Technology program in the section are invited to present a poster on a team-based design project.
- Team sizes are two or more students, with a minimum of one team member must be present to display the poster.
- Student teams may register in one of the following categories:
- First/Second Year Engineering and/or Engineering Technology Design Teams
- Junior/Senior Engineering and/or Engineering Technology Design Teams
Individual Undergraduate Researchers:
- Individual undergraduate students working on undergraduate research projects from any engineering program in the section are invited to present a poster.
Student poster procedure

The author must submit: author's name, proposed poster title, author's affiliation,
phone number, fax number, and e-mail address.
- Short abstract that describes the project described in the poster.
- MAXIMUM POSTER SIZE: 36" high x 48" wide
- All students must register for and attend the conference.
- Poster proposals will be peer-reviewed by the program committee.

Authors will be notified of acceptance or rejection of their proposed poster within 48 hours of submission.
- Poster Submission deadline extended to February 10, 2017.
